Alex Lopez is a performer and educator based in Houston, Texas. He is a senior at theUniversity of Houston and is in the euphonium studio of Dr. Kevin Fenske. Alex has performed in premier groups such as the UH Wind Ensemble, the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corp, the Spirit of Houston, and the Houston B.B.Q Euphonium Quartet. He recently performed at the 2025 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) convention with the UH Wind Ensemble, which was honored as an invited ensemble. His chamber ensemble, The Houston B.B.Q Euphonium Quartet, secured first place in the 2024 South Central Tuba Euphonium Chamber Competition.

Alex is passionate about music education. He currently works as a marching band technician and maintains a private lesson studio at multiple schools in Fort Bend ISD. Alex is also active as an intern in educational organizations such as SASI Leadership, Texas Low BrassAcademy, and Teupha Camp. He is also a counselor for the UH High School Wind Ensemble & Percussion Institute.

He is currently completing a Bachelor of Music Education degree at UH, and previously graduated from Vista Ridge HS in Cedar Park, Texas. His primary teachers include Bryan Christian, Brett Blackstone, Phillip Freeman, Sean Phelan, Dr. Cameron Kubos, David Bertman,and Dr. Kevin Fenske.
