what instruments we offer and what steps need to be taken to ensure you are prepared for all things band come next School Year!
STEPS TO JOIN THE GOLD TRACK BAND!
It’s now time to get our 2026 - 2027 Beginning Band Members setup and ready for SUCCESS!!
Here are the steps to join band:
Learn about all of your instrument choices.
Check out each instrument and watch the short videos.

3.) Schedule a Time for Instrument Selection
The dates are for ALL students that are joining band at
Wertheimer MS (6th Grade) or Briscoe JH (7th Grade)
for the 2026-2027 School Year.
INSTRUMENT SELECTION DAY IS SCHEDULED FOR:
SATURDAY MAY 2nd, 2026 FROM 9 AM -3PM
(All Band Instruments & Percussion)
or
INSTRUMENT SELECTION MAKE-UP DAY:
SATURDAY May 16th, 2026 FROM 9AM - 1PM
(All Band Instruments - NO Percussion)
Some instrument Sections may be Full by this date.
Wertheimer Middle School Cafeteria
Each Instrument Section will have a set # of students selected.
Spots fill up Quickly for Certain Sections.
Please try to attend of May 2nd for the most options and availability.
* If Percussion is one of the instruments you are interested in testing on, you will need to sign up for a
2nd Time Slot at a different time (on the same day) for percussion. (below)
* We will only be testing students on Percussion on the 1st Instrument Selection Day on May 2nd.
* We typically get 40-50 students interested in percussion - we only accept 10-12 each year.
Students will test a Band Instrument and select an instrument, so make sure you have also signed up for a Slot
above at a different scheduled time so you can test both instruments.
